3D Condensation Risk Assessment

3D condensation risk assessment of a complex façade junction where two-dimensional modelling was not sufficient.

Scope

Assessment of the minimum internal surface temperature at a geometrically complex building-envelope junction.

Method

A 3D finite-element thermal model was developed in COMSOL using the specified geometry, materials and boundary conditions. The resulting temperature field was analysed to identify the most thermally critical location.

Output

Minimum internal surface temperature and corresponding condensation-risk assessment.
