3D Thermal Bridge Analysis of a Brise Soleil Connection
3D finite-element thermal bridge analysis of a complex façade connection.
Scope
Assessment of the additional heat loss associated with the connection between the external shading element and the building envelope.
Method
A 3D thermal model was developed in COMSOL using the connection geometry and material properties. The resulting heat flow and temperature field were analysed to quantify the thermal bridge.
Output
Calculated Chi (χ)-value for the connection under the specified boundary conditions.
