Curtain Wall U-Value & Psi-Value Assessment
Thermal assessment of curtain-wall framing, transoms and glass-to-frame junctions.
Scope
Calculation of the frame U-value and thermal-performance parameters required to assess the curtain-wall system.
Method
The curtain-wall geometry was modelled in Flixo using the applicable calculation methodology. For the frame U-value calculation, the glazing was replaced with an equivalent insulating material to isolate the thermal performance of the frame. The original glazing was then restored to calculate the Psi (ψ)-value at the glass-to-frame junction.
Output
Frame U-value, glass-to-frame Psi-value and thermal-performance results for the transom.
